Lions Kick Off Meat Raffle Season
Dell
Rapids Lions Club members conducted the club’s first meat raffle of the
season on October 6th at Norby’s Grill and Bar in Dell Rapids. An
enthusiastic crowd bought up all 32 raffle tickets in each of the ten
rounds.
In the first nine rounds, tickets sell for $1 each and
the winner gets their choice of meat packages. Tickets in the final
round cost $5. The final winner gets the last package of meat and half
of that pot ($80.) This week’s winner of Round 9 was Jessica McMullen
in the picture. The grand winner of Round 10 was Lori Bennet for
$80, the meat and the pumpkins. Norby’s also donates TWO free
drink tickets each round to the numbers on either side of the winning
meat number. The meat is purchased locally from County Fair Store
at a discounted rate.
Marc Michel generously donated several of his homegrown pumpkins for winners to choose from.
The Lions Club is very grateful to Norby’s and County Fair for their support of this fundraising event.
Future Lions meat raffles will be held 5:30-7:00 p.m. on the first Friday of each month through April 2024.
