Lions tour Dells Fire Rescue

Dell Rapids Lions Carolyn Drew and Robert Wiarda listened as Fire Chief Dan Diez (right) conducted a tour of the local Fire Rescue for the club June 4th. Diez also provided an update to that day's fire that destroyed Pinz (bowling alley and restaurant) owned by Lion Casey McCoy.

Volunteers have provided fire protection for the community since 1894. The current facility was built in 2011, and is shared with Dell Rapids Ambulance. The City owns the building and pays for fire protection. There are currently 22 local volunteer firemen. Lions were impressed and reassured by the professional fire protection available in Dell Rapids.
