After years of dedication, Lions Wayne and Ruth Coffaa have passed chairmanship
of the Dell Rapids Lions Club's aluminum can recycling project on to fellow
club members Casey McCoy and Robert Wiarda. "The Coffaas have earned our
respect and appreciation for handling this project so ably for so long,"
said club president Tom Earley.
The club has had the same collection point at 3rd Street and Orleans Ave. for
decades. Recycling aluminum cans has has been a worthy community service as
well as an environmental goal of Lions Clubs International. Proceeds from the
project allow the club to financially support many local needs.
McCoy and Wiarda thank the community for its continued support, and offer these
reminders for recycling aluminum cans:
— Aluminum cans ONLY
— NO tin cans, trash, paper, glass, or plastic
Lions Robert Wiarda and Barb and Chuck Littel prepare aluminum cans for transfer to a Sioux Falls recycler.
