Despite the rainy start to the annual Quarry Days celebration in Dell Rapids, Lions performed 96 KidSight vision screenings June 22 and 23. This favorably compared to 99 screenings in each of the prior two years. Nine volunteers worked a total of 38.5 hours during the event.

The Dell Rapids Lions Club partners with the local Chamber of Commerce in soliciting nominations and choosing a Citizen of the Year to be honored during the annual Quarry Days celebration. Casey McCoy was named this year's winner, based on his imaginative, generous, and innovative service to the community.
